Many lifestyle issues such as lack of sleep, not eating enough fruits and vegetables and/or eating too much sugar, alcohol, and caffeine greatly affect the adrenal glands. Many people don’t realize when they suffer from adrenal fatigue. If the adrenal glands can’t produce enough cortisol for the body to function well under stress, we feel depressed, anxious, and stressed. Is there any help? Yes!

Unlike traditional psychiatry, integrative psychiatry targets the underlying cause of mood disorders, insomnia, eating issues, etc. instead of merely medicating the symptoms. Our approach identifies core imbalances, such as stress, hormonal imbalances, mineral and vitamin deficiencies and more, that are negatively affecting the brain and body networks. Through a careful study of your medical history, as well as lab testing, we work with you to find the cause and then determine your solutions.

Meet Dr. Leila Today!
Hello! I am Dr. Leila Kirdani and I am very excited you found my practice! Dr. Leila, Quality of Life Medicine empowers each individual to achieve the highest quality of life that he or she can through hormone balancing, improving gut health, clearing toxins, and promoting a healthy diet and lifestyle.
My desire to help people through the field of medicine was born from the interests of my mother, a guidance counselor, and of my father, a chemist. I have always had an interest in alternative and holistic medicine. Even during the years when I practiced traditional family medicine, my personal healthcare involved acupuncture, chiropractic care, and the use of supplements. I absolutely believe that metabolic medicine is the way to achieve excellent physical health. It is the very best combination of science and nature.
Health and healing go beyond just physical health. We are truly mind-body creatures. To even talk about mind and body separates the two, yet they are indivisible. Metabolic medicine enables us to heal our physical bodies to the point where we can free the mind and spirit to achieve a level of wellness that we have never before experienced.
I believe that my team and I can help you achieve the highest quality of life possible, and that we can be an integral part of your path to being the very best you that you can be.
Leila Kirdani, M.D. is board-certified in both metabolic medicine and family practice. She graduated from SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 1991 and went on to obtain board certification in family medicine after completing her residency at York Hospital, PA. Dr. Kirdani moved to Rochester, NY in 1997 to complete a fellowship in family systems which allowed her to explore her interests in family therapy and biopsychosocial medicine.
She practiced traditional family medicine for fifteen years before completing a fellowship through the Metabolic Medicine Institute. This additional training has allowed Dr. Kirdani to integrate her love of more natural medicine with her traditional medical background to provide her patients with cutting edge health care.
Hello. My name is Dr. Zendi Moldenhauer. I am excited to join the team at Dr. Leila, Quality of Life Medicine because I look forward to combining my love for pediatrics, psychiatry, AND integrative medicine!
I was born and raised in South Africa and completed my bachelor’s degree in nursing and midwifery at the University of Cape Town. I traveled widely through Europe, then moved to the USA in 1996 to pursue my graduate studies at the University of Rochester. I completed an adolescent fellowship and a master’s degree to become a pediatric nurse practitioner, then practiced pediatric and adolescent medicine for eight years. During this time, I completed a post-master’s certificate as a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a PhD in nursing, with a research emphasis on adolescent mental health. I have worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner with children, teens, and young adults for the past nine years.
Through my own personal health journey and health and nutrition coaching studies, I awakened to the need to integrate wellness approaches for the body, mind, and spirit. I am engaged in a process of integrating my conventional medical background in pediatrics and psychiatry with more natural, functional healing modalities to help people attain the highest level of health and wellness. I am fascinated by the interaction of nutritional, environmental, and lifestyle factors with physical, spiritual, and emotional health. I am committed to learning and practicing more integrated health care, and working with people to understand and promote optimal wellness.
Natalie’s interest in nutrition began during her undergraduate studies at Cornell University; she had originally wanted to go into medicine. While studying biology and nutrition, she quickly realized that so many current human illnesses are based in dietary and lifestyle habits. Natalie completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Nutrition from Cornell University in 2009 and went on to work in nutrition communication at Harvard University, and nutrition education through Washington State University in Seattle. Through her studies at Cornell, Natalie deepened her interest in understanding agriculture and food production, as she believes true nutrition begins in the soil.
Natalie has worked on farms in New York, Washington, and Argentina, managing Community Supported Agriculture programs and small-scale crop production. These experiences led Natalie to pursue a Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition through the New York Chiropractic College. Natalie currently teaches nutrition part-time at Corning Community College and is excited to be continuing her work as a nutrition specialist at Dr. Leila, Quality of Life Medicine.
